29 Nov MIICT to be presented at the upcoming Cyberspace conference
The H2020-project MIICT explores new approaches for ICT services that facilitate the integration of migrants. However, this entails an integrated approach in view of data protection implementation both within the project, and the developed solutions.
MIICT will be presented at the upcoming Cyberspace Conference which will take place in Brno, the Czech Republic on 29-30 November 2019. MIICT is a project dedicated to further the integration of migrants in their host societies across the Member States via the development of ICT-enabled platform. Although in the context of migration it might not strike immediately so, data protection is still one of the main concerns when it comes to the development of any ICT-enabled platform. This is ever more important when designing and piloting a system that envisages migrants as potential users.
To this end, MIICT involves a dedicated work package aiming to ensure that the relevant legal and ethical requirements, and data protection in particular, are given due weight, and taken into account in the design of IMMERSE.
A year since the start of the project, the data protection requirements have already been defined by Law and Internet Foundation. Now, Denitsa Kozhuharova part of their team, will proudly present them at the Cyberspace conference. Denitsa will speak on 30th of November 2019 in the panel dedicated to Privacy and Personal Data, and AI. Her topic is defined as “Automated decision-making in the field of integration: data protection & ethical aspects”.
